Scott Beard
After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from
Texas Tech University in 1982, Scott joined the staff at Trinity Church in Lubbock, Texas as the High School Pastor.
The following year marked a dramatic change in his life--he relocated to Dallas, Texas to attend Christ for the Nations Institute. The change was undoubtedly for the better, because while he was there he met his future wife, Kim, whom he married two years later.
Not long after their wedding, the Beards made the move to Virginia Beach,
Virginia, where Scott received his Master's degree in New Testament Studies. It was just after receiving this degree that Jackie White, the Senior Pastor of Church on the Rock in Lubbock, Texas, invited Scott to come and serve as an Associate Pastor for him. Soon, Scott and Kim found themselves headed to Lubbock, where they would remain for the next 5 years.
In early 1992, FountainGate Fellowship in Abilene, Texas (at that time a church of only 75 people called Word of Emmanuel) invited Scott to come and serve as their Senior Pastor. Scott accepted and, in February of that year, he and his family relocated to Abilene.
During his time at FountainGate, the membership has grown to around 500. Likewise, the vision of the church has also grown, and FGF is now a church which is impacting the city of Abilene, the state of Texas and the nations of the earth.
Scott and Kim have been blessed with five beautiful children:
Jase, Madison, Abigail, Emily and Parker.
